Acquisition Engagement
AEG was retained by an international public company. Our client
was a manufacturer and distributor of fasteners, fittings,
and other industrial and automotive products. The client required
assistance in the acquisition of a complementary but under-performing
business that potentially would provide product line extensions
and expanded distribution footprint through wholesale stores.
AEG's services included due diligence, strategic planning
and assessment of the target business. In addition to providing
a valuation of the target, AEG evaluated the impact of the
potential acquisition on the acquiror's stock price.
Based on AEG's work, our client agreed this was not a
value-added acquisition and elected not to pursue it.
